About Diana Richardson

 A Vibrant Journey in Art

Based in the lively city of Brighton, my journey as an artist has been a lifelong passion. Even while building a career in financial services, art was always my constant companion. In April 2024, following a sudden redundancy, I embraced the opportunity to turn my lifelong hobby into a business. Now, I’m dedicated to sharing my love of animals and art with others through vibrant, distinctive paintings.

Inspired by Animals, Driven by Creativity
Animals have always been my muse, and my work is a celebration of their essence. I studied art to A Level, where I honed the basics and explored classic techniques and styles. Over time, as my confidence and experience grew, I began to experiment more freely with bold colours, dynamic textures, and unique approaches to style. My goal? To capture the unique spirit of every animal I paint—bringing them to life in a way that sparks conversation and leaves a lasting impression.

The Magic of Mixed Media
My artistic process thrives on experimentation. I love working with mixed media and unconventional tools—like stencils made from cardboard boxes or paper cup lids. This playful, hands-on approach infuses my work with energy and character. Splashes of paint, drips, spatters, and geometric shapes add a vibrant edge to my paintings, making each piece truly unique.

The Soul of My Work: The Eyes
To me, the eyes are everything. They’re the windows to the soul and the heart of every connection. I pour countless hours into perfecting the depth and expression of the eyes in each piece, ensuring they feel alive and full of emotion. It’s through the eyes that I hope you’ll connect with my work and the incredible animals that inspire it.

Art That Brings Joy
Every painting I create is a labour of love, carefully layered to capture the vitality and spirit of my subjects. My mission is simple: to bring joy, connection, and a touch of wonder into your home with art that celebrates animals in all their beauty and energy.
